Are you beginning to see any aspects of CONTINUITY between Ancient India and Ancient Egypt? As you explain your answer keep in mind the thematic concept of GEOGRAPHY.

There is definitely a connection between the two civilizations.

Yes, there is continuity, but I have no idea what it is, sorry :(

I think that the two civilizations had been influenced greatly by eachother. They probabaly had traded with each other because they probably had resources that the other didn't and in doing so there cultures got mixed together, cultural diffusion. They both also contained engineering feats like with the in Indus Valley they had drainage systems and the Egyptians had the Pyramids.

There are connects between the two because they both influenced each other by doing things. When they traded with each other both cultures got mixed causing them to learnn from each other.

They were influenced off of each other because they both had good ideas that they shared.

I see aspects of continuity bettween Ancient India and Ancient Eygpt. They were both located and grew near major rivers. Ancient Egypt was near the nile river while Ancient India was near the Ganges. They used the water for their crops and their everyday uses. The water also flooded to give fertile soil to the lands.

I think both civilizations influenced from eachother. Both civilizations probably traded with eachother because they were both known around the world. They both probably took ideas from eachother like engineering, the way the people lived.

Yes there is a heavy amount of continuity. This is because through trade there was an exchange of ideas, thoughts and beliefs.

Definetly there are aspects of continuity between the Ancient India and Ancient Egypt. Both ancient civilizations are both dependent of rivers and other factors. The Egyptians used the Nile as a source for irrigating crops. People in Ancient India used the Ganges and the Brahmaputra for agricultural purposes. People in ancient India use monsoons also to grow crops. Egypt's main source for irrigating crops was the Nile.

There is an aspect of change in continuity between Ancient India and Ancient Egypt. They both traded with each other which could've caused a cultural diffusion

yes i begin to see continuity between Ancient India and Ancient Egypt becasue they have many similarities. For example, the location. Although they are not located in the same place they both rely on their resources. The Egyptians relied on the floods of the Nile river to bring in the silt to plant crops. The Ancient Indians also relied on the masoons to bring in water for crops also. A.I. 801

Of course, there is Continuity and Geography shown in the relationships between Ancient India and Egypt because of their uses of the rivers that surrounded them. The Nile was a major help for the Egyptians and now India has a major similarity with them, they have the Ganges. They also irrigated their crops which made it easier for them. Trade also sparked cultural diffusion between the two countries because of exports and different people that came into the areas of Egypt and India. However, these two countries were very dependent in their ways of life.

k lets c, aw the um continuity is that the both ancient india and egypt uses natural resources to build their power of their civilization i think thats about it

The Indian and the Egyptian civilizations both influenced each other. For example, both the Indians and the Egyptians were polytheistic, which means that they both believed in more than god. They were both near major river valleys. The Egyptians were near the Nile and the Indians were near the Ganges river. Both had fertile land from the rivers and that shows a lot of farming and agriculture in those places. They both probably traded with each other so that caused cultural diffusion or the spreading of ideas.

Answer:
I will have to say yes there are quite a good amount of continuity between the Ancient India and Ancient Egypt. Both ancient civilization depends on geography. Meaning, both of the ancient civilization were dependent on the rivers that were located close by. for instance, the Egyptians used the Nile in a lot of ways. Such as using it to transport goods and people. They also used it to irrigate crops. On the other hand, the Ancient India used the Ganges and the Brahmaputra for developing the land, crops, city, etc... As you can see, both the Ancient India and Egyptians has continuity between them. By the way through trading and migration, ideas and ways of doing things would be exchanged.

bwahahahahaha!!!

yes, yes....

I'm sure you could tell that was me, Chandanie.

Well, in my opinion I do see continuity.

The Egyptians relied on the Nile river and the Indians relied on the Ganges river.

Also, I agree with Simon.

cultural diffusion - such as trade - between the two civilizations gave way to the exchange of ideas, thoughts, and beleifs. (Although, did the two civilizations interact with each other?)

And seriously, how do you want me to format my essay on Himduism?

I was thinking perhaps an introduction (just the general things I will include), the difference between the Aryan Samajes and the Sanautinists, The Vedas and the Ramyana, the ten Hindu commandments, (Yes we have commandments) and a conclusion to wrap it up.

How does that sound?

P.S. I know I just spelt a few words wrong. :D

Both Ancient India and Ancient Egypt have things in common. The Ancient Egyptians and Ancient Indians both counted on geography. The Indians had the Ganges river and the Egyptians had the Nile river. Both civilizations needed these rivers to irrigate their crops, and for trading. Also both civilizations were polytheistic.

I am beginning to see many aspects of CONTINUITY between Ancient India and Ancient Egypt because they are very much alike. The two civilizations were greatly influenced by each other and by geography. They depended on geograpy because ancient Egypt had the Nile River and ancient India had the Ganges river. They both used it for transportation purposes, irrigation, and agricultural.

I would say the Indian and the Egyptian civilizations both influenced each other. The Indians and the Egyptians were also both polytheistic. They both had fertile land from the rivers. The Indians were near the Ganges River and the Egyptians were near the Nile River. They both also did alot of farming since they were near fertile lands and water.

Anonymous said...

Both civilizations were river valley civilizations. In India it was the Indus river valley and the Nile River.

I think that there is continuity between the two civilizations of Ancient Egypt and Ancient India. for example, they have the similarity of using rivers to help their civilization. the Egyptians used the Nile river, while the Indians used the Ganges river. they use the river for transportation, irrigation, and also trade.

One example is that they are both located near major rivers. The Nile for Egypt and the Ganges.

They Both used these rivers for survival. They used the water for irragating crops, trade and war.

Hey, Mr.B, I'm responding to the geography part of your blog. You said, think about geography, and i know what your talking about. Both civilizations relied heavily on the nearby rivers as a source of water, defense, and fertilizer of crops. The Egyptians had the worlds longest river, the Nile, and the Indian Civilization had two, the Ganges which runs through modern day India, and the Indus River, which runs through Modern Day Pakistan. That is a major similarity since all the civilizations in history have developed near a major water source.

Yes, I am beginning to see many aspects of contuniuty between Ancient Egypt and Ancient India.
One aspect is that they both rely on the major factor of their neighboring rivers in order to accomplish their daily needs. One is that they both used their nearby rivers to irrigate their crops, to bathe, and for religious reasons. The egyptians used the Nile as their major factor of survival and the Indians used the Ganges and Brahmaputra. Another aspect of continuity is that of there religion. They were both Polytheistic which means they both believed in many gods. Also their culture, one example is their food like I don't know Indians ate curry and the Egyptians maybe ate fish.
One major aspect is that maybe they traded with each other which could've resulted in cultural diffusion.
Anyways, both cultures were very interesting to learn about!

I see continuity between the two civilizations. They both lived near the rivers. The cause of living near the rivers was a good one because it gave them fertile soil. Also they shared different ideas and beliefs.

There is CONTINUITY between Ancient India and Ancient Egypt because the two civilizations were greatly influenced by each other and by geography. They depended on Geography because ancient Egypt had the Nile River and ancient India had the Ganges river. The Egyptians used the Nile as a source for irrigating crops. People in Ancient India used the Ganges and the Brahmaputra for agricultural purposes. These two civilization used rivers and water supply as a source of life. Therefore, you can conclude on why there was a connection between these 2 outstanding civilizations.

I am beginning to see the realtionship between Ancient India and Ancient Egypt because of the precedent set by the Ancient Egyptians. One thing is the geography, and how they settled near rivers. The Ancient Egyptians set near the Nile which was a big deal to them, and Ancient Indians set near the Indus river. Also when talking about religion, they were both polytheistic because the ancient Egyptians believed in Osiris and Amon- Re, but the Indians believed in Indra and Bramhan.

Barack Obama is the junior U.S. Senator from Illinois and the 2008 Democratic presidential nominee.

During their third and final presidential debate, Obama and Republican presidential nominee John McCain clashed sharply over tax policies and some of the heated rhetoric that had been tossed between their campaigns.

McCain accused Obama of waging "class warfare" with his tax plans and said his proposals would harm the economy."

"Why would you want to increase anybody's taxes right now?" McCain asked.

Obama countered that he would cut taxes for 95 percent of earners while raising it on the richest Americans, those making more than $250,000 a year.

"When it comes to economic policies, essentially what you're proposing is four more years of the same thing, and it hasn't worked," Obama responded.

The debate was held October 15, 2008, at Hofstra University in Hempstead, New York, on Long Island, with CBS' Bob Schieffer moderating.

Obama and McCain also held debates on September 26 in Oxford, Mississippi, and October 7 in Nashville, Tennessee. The vice presidential nominees, Republican Sarah Palin and Democrat Joe Biden, met for their only debate on October 2 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Voters cast their ballots on Election Day, which is November 4.

Barack Hussein Obama was born Aug. 4, 1961, in Honolulu, Hawaii. His father, Barack Obama, Sr., was born of Luo ethnicity in Nyanza Province, Kenya. He grew up herding goats with his own father, who was a domestic servant to the British. Although reared among Muslims, Obama, Sr., became an atheist at some point.

Obama’s mother, Ann Dunham, grew up in Wichita, Kansas. Her father worked on oil rigs during the Depression. After the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, he signed up for service in World War II and marched across Europe in Patton’s army. Dunham’s mother went to work on a bomber assembly line. After the war, they studied on the G. I. Bill, bought a house through the Federal Housing Program, and moved to Hawaii.

Meantime, Barack’s father had won a scholarship that allowed him to leave Kenya pursue his dreams in Hawaii. At the time of his birth, Obama’s parents were students at the East–West Center of the University of Hawaii at Manoa.

Obama’s parents separated when he was two years old and later divorced. Obama’s father went to Harvard to pursue Ph. D. studies and then returned to Kenya.

His mother married Lolo Soetoro, another East–West Center student from Indonesia. In 1967, the family moved to Jakarta, where Obama’s half-sister Maya Soetoro–Ng was born. Obama attended schools in Jakarta, where classes were taught in the Indonesian language.

Four years later when Barack (commonly known throughout his early years as "Barry") was ten, he returned to Hawaii to live with his maternal grandparents, Madelyn and Stanley Dunham, and later his mother (who died of ovarian cancer in 1995).

He was enrolled in the fifth grade at the esteemed Punahou Academy, graduating with honors in 1979. He was only one of three black students at the school. This is where Obama first became conscious of racism and what it meant to be an African–American.

In his memoir, Obama described how he struggled to reconcile social perceptions of his multiracial heritage. He saw his biological father (who died in a 1982 car accident) only once (in 1971) after his parents divorced. And he admitted using alcohol, marijuana and cocaine during his teenage years.

After high school, Obama studied at Occidental College in Los Angeles for two years. He then transferred to Columbia University in New York, graduating in 1983 with a degree in political science.

After working at Business International Corporation (a company that provided international business information to corporate clients) and NYPIRG, Obama moved to Chicago in 1985. There, he worked as a community organizer with low-income residents in Chicago’s Roseland community and the Altgeld Gardens public housing development on the city’s South Side.
